Who can apply?
Independent media outlets registered in Georgia or in exile and unregistered initiative groups based in Georgia or operating from exile, but focused on beneficiaries within the country, are eligible to apply.
Priority will be given to applications from media located within the country, particularly those based outside the capital.
Applications submitted by political, religious organisations will not be considered. Applications from media or individuals of other nationalities, as well as from state-affiliated or state-controlled media, coworking spaces, or individuals employed by such entities, are not eligible.
What can be funded?
All content production costs can be covered, for a maximum of €20,000. The duration of project support is between 3 and 12 months, with projects concluded at the latest by 30 July 2027.
What kind of media content will be supported?
We will support the development of creative, innovative and audience-focused content using engaging formats to combat disinformation and propaganda, generate positive pro-democratic narratives, and enhance informed public debate in Georgia. Grants will cover both the production and dissemination of this new media content on traditional and non-traditional media platforms.
What are the selection criteria?
- The application has been completed and submitted before the deadline.
- The applicant is an independent media outlet or a (social) media initiative group.
- The applicant has proven experience in producing and disseminating content related to democracy, human rights, freedom of speech, or freedom of information in Georgia; this will be demonstrated by references and/or your recommendations, links to the published materials in media. If your organisation is in exile, experience prior to relocation will be considered.
- The project objectives are specific, measurable, achievable, relevant and time-bound (SMART).
- Outputs are clearly defined.
- The application should include a program description addressing how their content production is innovative by including a production plan
- The project clearly identifies the expected audience and how it will be reached through a dissemination plan.
- Initiatives targeting youth are encouraged, although we also welcome projects targeted another specific audience.
- The budget is clear, well-justified and cost-effective.
Please note that although the maximum grant amount is EUR 20,000, as part of the selection process, the organization reserves the right to revise the proposed budget and adjust it in close collaboration with the selected applicants.

We use secure file management systems and secure communication channels to ensure the confidentiality of your application and any associated information.
All personal data submitted will be handled in accordance with applicable data protection laws and used solely for the purposes of grant administration.
